Locum Consultant Cardiologist in Heart Failure, Transplant and MCS

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and highly motivated Locum Consultant Cardiologist in Advanced Heart Failure, Transplant and Mechanical Circulatory Support to join the internationally renowned team at Harefield Hospital, part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work within one of the UK's leading specialist heart and lung centres, contributing to a nationally commissioned transplant and ventricular assist device (VAD) programme delivering complex, high-quality care to patients with advanced cardiac disease. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of comprehensive heart failure and transplant services, including inpatient and outpatient management, participation in multidisciplinary team working, and contribution to a 1 in 8 on-call rota. The post also offers excellent opportunities for research, education and service development within a Trust recognised for its commitment to clinical excellence, innovation and teaching.
Education
* Full GMC registration
* MBBS or equivalent
* On the Specialist Register of The GMC for Cardiology or within 6 months of eligibility at the time of interview.
* Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in cardiac medicine, or within six months of award of CCT or equivalent by date of interview
* Higher degree (MD, PhD or equivalent)
Experience
* Sub-specialist interest in heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support devices
* Experience in Short term machinical support
* Experience in intensive care treatment
* Experience in Echocardiography (trans-thoracic and trans-oesophageal)
Skills
* Ability to initiate & supervise research
* Knowledge of Extracorporeal Life Support and intensive therapy management

£113,565 to £150,569 a year per annum excl. London Zone
