Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in peoples lives? HCRG Care Group is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Band 3 Care Support Worker to join our friendly and supportive Children's Continuing Care Team. In this rewarding role you will provide designated, high‑quality care for children with complex medical needs within the community and in their own homes. This is a part‑time role working 27 hours per week, though we are happy to discuss alternative hours.
Responsibilities
As part of the Children's Continuing Care Team you will:
* Caring for children in their homes, including waking night shifts, day shifts and evening shifts, responding to varying health needs while allowing parents restful sleep.
* Managing children who have complex health needs and require medical technology such as ventilators, feeding tubes and oxygen.
* Receiving full training for all aspects of a child's care and working with a trained colleague during the learning period.
* Keeping accurate records of the care you provide.
* Communicating effectively and professionally with children and families in our care.
* Providing care in line with each child's care plan.
* Recognising when a child's health is deteriorating and following the advice and actions in the care plan.
Qualifications & Requirements
Ideal candidate will have:
* Understanding of the impact of providing care in the home for children with complex medical needs and their families.
* Ability to participate in training of new staff in a variety of settings, including theory training and training within family homes.
* Full UK driving licence and ownership or use of a car.
* Willingness to travel across the whole of Wiltshire and Banes as required.
* Flexible, reliable and adaptable organisational skills.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Skilled at relating to children and maintaining confidentiality and trustworthiness.
* NVQ Level 3 in health or social care or a recognised nursery nurse qualification.
* Minimum of 1 year's experience working with children with complex health needs and at least 1 year in another setting such as nursery or respite service.
