Pay: £14.96 per hour PAYE / £16.30 via Umbrella
About the Role
Prospero Teaching are looking for a dedicated and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Honiton. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive in a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.
You will be working one-to-one or within small groups, supporting pupils with a range of needs such as:
Autism (ASC)
ADHD
Speech, language & communication needs
SEMH
Cognition & learning difficultiesThe school is warm, well-resourced, and committed to providing high-quality support and training for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Supporting pupils with special educational needs on a 1:1 or small group basis
Assisting the class teacher with planning and adapting lessons where needed
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation using a trauma-informed approach
Helping pupils engage with learning and develop confidence
Creating a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for all learners
Requirements
Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable
A caring, resilient and patient nature
Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
An enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Right to work in the UK
Relevant training (e.g., Team Teach, Autism Awareness) is a bonus but not essential
