About the Role
We’re actively seeking a dedicated Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant with a background in supporting students with SEMH needs to join our team on a long-term basis. In this role, you’ll be pivotal in providing one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, guiding them in developing coping strategies, emotional management, and effective engagement in learning activities. Your collaboration with class teachers and SENCO will be essential as you implement personalized interventions and support plans to foster positive behavior and academic progress.
Key Skills, Experiences & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
● Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs in an educational setting.
● Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
● Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
● Knowledge of behavior management strategies and techniques for supporting students with SEMH needs.
● Relevant qualifications or training in special education or related fields are desirable but not essential.
