We have a new opportunity to be part of our Composites Design team as a Composite Design Engineer.
As a Composite Design Engineer, you will contribute to the full design lifecycle of composite components, from initial concept through development and testing. You'll work within a collaborative and innovative design team, supporting the development of class-leading composite assemblies, tooling, and jigs. This role offers a great opportunity to develop your design expertise in a high-performance F1 environment.
You will be responsible for:
* Creating design schemes from concept to detailed assemblies, including jigs, patterns, and tooling.
* Surfacing composite components and defining laminate specifications.
* Providing technical support during assembly, testing, and development phases.
* Resolving issues arising from design validation or development.
* Participating in team discussions to develop and improve design concepts.
* Attending and contributing to meetings across design and engineering teams.
* Working proactively in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment.
* Keeping up-to-date with composite design best practices.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
* A degree or equivalent in composites or mechanical engineering.
* Experience producing high-quality design schemes and drawings of complex assemblies.
* Good knowledge of 3D CAD systems, ideally CATIA, and surface modelling.
* Understanding of composite manufacturing techniques using pre-preg technologies.
* Experience in motorsport or high-performance engineering is desirable.
* A creative and flexible approach to problem-solving.
* An analytical mindset with the ability to deliver effective design solutions.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* A calm, confident demeanor under pressure, with strong organizational skills.
* Motivated, adaptable, and dependable.
* Good IT skills and attention to detail.
* A team player who contributes positively to team culture.
* Commitment to Health & Safety practices.
This is a full-time, office-based role at our campus in Silverstone, with occasional travel to other locations as needed.
