Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen on Gateley Trauma and Orthopaedic Ward for a band 3 HCA to join our team. This is either full time hours - 37.5 per week or can be flexible with part time hours.

There is a fantastic opportunity for a HCA to develop their skills in Trauma and Orthopaedics, delivering specialised care to Spinal patients and post operative orthopaedic patients within a supportive, friendly ward environment.

The successful applicant will be supported by our nursing team to build on and develop skills, including support with completion of care certificate, band 3 Clinical skills, pre and post operative care, and Spinal care.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) - Clinical Care involve providing high-quality, safe, and compassionate care to patients under the supervision of registered professionals.

This includes assisting with personal care, nutrition, wound care, mobility, and infection control, as well as monitoring and recording vital signs, supporting patients with toileting and hygiene needs, and maintaining accurate documentation.

The role also involves communicating effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team, participating in audits and service improvement initiatives, supporting new staff and learners, and upholding NNUH's PRIDE values. Staff are expected to work flexibly across clinical areas while maintaining professionalism and adhering to Trust policies and procedures.
