The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy SENDCo to join our client's dedicated SEND team. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in ensuring all students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive the tailored support they require to flourish academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the SENCO to develop and implement the school's SEND provision, aligning with the SEND Code of Practice and national guidelines.
* Oversee the identification, assessment, and ongoing support of students with SEND.
* Lead and manage a team of Teaching Assistants (TAs) and other SEND professionals.
* Work collaboratively with subject teachers to develop inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated learning activities.
* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND interventions and adjust strategies as needed.
* Build strong relationships with students, parents/carers, and external agencies involved in SEND support.
* Foster a positive and inclusive school environment that celebrates diversity.
* Contribute to the professional development of staff in relation to SEND.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a relevant SEND qualification (e.g., National Award in SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or equivalent).
* Proven experience working with students with a range of SEND.
* Excellent leadership and management skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* A commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
* Passion for inclusive education and raising the attainment of all students.
