An exciting opportunity for an inspirational and aspirational leader to join Cumbria Education Trust in the position of Assistant Headteacher at Kirkby Stephen Grammar School. The role is a key strategic position within our rapidly improving school, responsible for inclusion, safeguarding, behaviour, attendance and wellbeing. The assistant headteacher will play a key role in developing and driving academic provision and shaping learning across the Trust, and will be offered a competitive salary, training and support and opportunities for career progression.
Responsibilities
* Lead inclusion and safeguarding as Designated Safeguarding Lead, shaping a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.
* Oversee behaviour systems, restorative practice, SEND provision and wider pastoral offer, ensuring values are lived consistently.
* Drive the academic provision and shape learning across the Trust.
* Support high expectations and improve life chances for all pupils.
Qualifications
* Inspiring, dedicated professional with a strong track record in raising standards, leading teams and driving whole‑school culture.
* Strong commitment to high expectations and passionate about improving life chances.
* Enhanced DBS disclosure and Barred List checks required; must not be on the Children’s Barred List.
