Overview

As Room Manager, you will be the driving force behind the success of your room or unit – overseeing the everyday operations, inspiring and developing your team to deliver our ambitious approach and curriculum for all children.

You will balance the needs of the children, parents, your team and the business, aiming for excellence in early years provision. As part of your role, you will also take on a Designated Role within the nursery.

What You’ll Be Doing

* Child-centric
o Ensure Cherubs Nurseries age-appropriate routines are embedded and followed daily, providing access to facilities and activities across our nurseries.
o Oversee the bi-weekly planning cycle for your room/unit, ensuring it reflects the children’s needs, assessments, cohort and interests.
o Maintain the Nursery App including child profiles, parent communication, record-keeping (daily diary, accident logs), observations and tracking.
o Promote high standards of presentation and personal hygiene for children.
o Manage the presentation and maintenance of your room/unit (planning boards, displays, storage, cleanliness and furniture).
o Oversee snack and mealtimes adhering to Cherubs Nurseries Food Policy and Allergy, Intolerance and Dietary Requirement Policy.
o Support a robust Key Person System with smooth transitions and clear communication with parents.
* Communicate with Purpose
o Allocate daily and weekly tasks to your team, matching experience where needed.
o Lead daily handovers and be a positive, knowledgeable point of contact for parents and families.
o Meet with the Head of Nursery monthly to align on room objectives and annual aims.
o Keep Qualified and Apprentice Early Years Educators updated with nursery or business updates; provide answers or escalate when needed.
* Play to Win
o Undertake a Designated Role within the nursery, completed to a high standard and tailored to nursery needs.
o Support in planning nursery events (e.g., Summer Fair, Graduation, Parent evenings, Stay and Plays).
o Take responsibility for room checks, forms and assessments, ensuring timely and standard-compliant completion.
o Understand and apply Cherubs Nurseries policies and procedures and communicate their importance to the team.
* Seek out Solutions
o Address parent feedback (positive and negative) appropriately, involving the Head of Nursery when needed.
o Administer First Aid properly and maintain records for compliance.
o Identify and support children with additional needs (SEND or EAL); work with the Head of Nursery, SENDCo and parents to access support.
o Oversee All About Me and settling-in processes for new children and transitions, using positive techniques including Family Books.
* Look out for each other
o Onboard new Educators to your room and upskill them to Cherubs Nurseries standards.
o Advocate for your team with regular positive feedback at briefings, trainings and company channels.
o Prepare your team for internal audits, mock Ofsted inspections and live Ofsted inspections.
