Paralegal (Clinical Negligence – Leeds)

We are one of the largest Clinical Negligence departments in the UK with over 200 team members. Our work covers all forms of clinical negligence, including the most severe injury cases caused by medical mistakes.

Main Responsibilities
* Ensure delivery of all KPI targets set by the firm.
* Progress cases in a timely, efficient and proactive manner.
* Co‑ordinate and liaise with clients, experts, barristers, third‑party solicitors and insurers as directed.
* Handle all pre‑ and post‑issue procedures under supervision, cost‑effectively.
* Complete all actions as per the Proclaim Action List promptly.
* Maintain accurate time recording.
* Keep client files in good order in accordance with Lexcel and other quality assurance requirements.
* Report to Senior Lawyer as required.
* Assist in collecting and collating medical records.
* Prepare client documents such as witness statements.
* Manage a caseload of Clinical Negligence cases in the early stages and support team members with related tasks.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Desire to work in this area of law and preferably some experience.
* Graduate, preferably with a law‑related degree and/or professional qualification such as LPC, a route to the BAR or CILEX.
* Ability to take direction and supervision from the team leader.
* Proven legal and forensic skills.
* Strong research skills.
