London | Top 10 Accounting Firm
A Top 10 accounting firm is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join its growing London team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong audit and accounting professional looking to move into a highly visible role focused on audit quality, technical advisory, regulatory compliance and process improvement within a leading professional services environment.
Working closely with the Technical Partner and senior leadership team, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the firm's continued growth, quality initiatives and integration of newly acquired London offices.
Key Responsibilities
* Answer technical queries across the firm relating to:
o Financial reporting
o Narrative reporting
o ISA audit methodology
o Risk management
o Ethics and independence
* Identify thematic areas requiring additional guidance, templates or training
* Support the development and delivery of initiatives to improve audit quality, efficiency and consistency across audit and accounts production processes
* Work with the Technical Partner to coordinate the external cold file review process
* Analyse thematic issues and root causes, developing remediation plans including training and coaching initiatives
* Assist in ensuring the firm remains up to date with:
o Emerging technical matters
o Regulatory developments
o UK Ethical Standards
o US independence rules
* Support the implementation of new regulatory requirements and the continual development of firm-wide policies, procedures and processes
* Assist with the integration of newly acquired London-based offices
* Work alongside the Technical Partner and Head of Audit in developing assurance and advisory service lines
Requirements
* ACA or ACCA qualified
* Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and ISA audit methodology
* Experience within a Top 10, mid-tier or Big 4 accounting firm environment
* Strong understanding of audit quality, compliance and risk management processes
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Experience delivering technical training or guidance would be advantageous
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
