We are looking for an experienced Vocational Assessor to deliver Industrial Cleaning and Waste Management qualifications at HMP Leyhill, Gloucester.
The hours of work are 34 hours per week Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm.
You will need experience of delivering Vocational Qualifications within the last 12 months.

Responsibilities
* Workplace Assessments: Assessing learners in different workplaces within the prison establishment.
* Guidance and Support: Providing feedback, guidance, and support to learners as they work towards their NVQ qualifications.
* Evidence Collection: Gathering evidence of a learner’s skills and knowledge to demonstrate their competence.
* Assessment: Evaluating learners’ performance against NVQ standards and providing constructive feedback.
* Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of learner progress and assessment results.
Additional Tasks
* Planning and delivering training sessions.
* On‑going development of learning materials.
* Providing training to learners to help them develop the skills needed for their NVQ.
* Participating in quality assurance activities.
* Collaborating with colleagues, Prison Managers, Prison Workshop Instructors, and employers.
Qualifications
* An Assessors Award or equivalent, e.g., CAVA.
* Recent assessing experience within the last 12 months.
* A positive attitude towards offender rehabilitation.
As a Vocational Assessor, you will guide and assess learners through their qualification, sharing your knowledge and preparing them for work in the sector. Your support helps learners build confidence and open doors to future employment, making a tangible difference in their lives and communities. Cohorts are between 8 and 10 learners.
All applicants will need to be prepared to undergo prison security clearance.
