Costain Graduate Development Programme: Our programme focuses on helping individuals learn a mix of leadership and technical skills. We offer a structured training programme to enable graduates to work towards achieving Chartership in their chosen field. Graduates may have the opportunity, after 8–10 months, to rotate and work on various projects across the UK during the 2-year period, experiencing different sectors. Our line managers support the programme and will assist your development.
About the project: Costain has been chosen as the Programme Delivery Partner for URENCO to deliver infrastructure upgrades at their site and facilities. The framework involves at least 40 contracts over three years, focusing on uranium enrichment services for low-carbon electricity. Costain’s role is to develop the upgrade plan and deliver contracts safely, on time, and within budget.
Security clearance: Some roles may require obtaining and maintaining security clearance at least at the Security Check level. Applicants must have been UK residents for at least 5 years and pass vetting processes.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks & Responsibilities: As a Graduate Engineer, you will play a key role in technical delivery, managing time, cost, and quality, and gaining technical, leadership, and project management skills. Your tasks will include:
* Design management to meet project requirements.
* Ensuring compliance with engineering standards and regulations.
* Analyzing technical drawings and reports to guide construction.
* Producing and reviewing technical documents.
* Planning operations, writing Method Statements, and updating Safe Systems of Work.
* Implementing quality control and supervising construction activities.
* Managing project updates, risks, and client relationships.
Qualifications
About You:
* An Engineering Degree with at least 2:2 or above.
* Proficient in IT (Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, etc.).
* Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
* Excellent organization, communication, and time management skills.
* Willingness to learn and take on challenges.
* Passion for Costain's Carbon Net Zero targets.
* Ability to build positive relationships and thrive under time constraints.
* Mobility to work across various UK projects during the 2-year programme.
