Multi Skilled Shift Engineer
Location: Leicester
Salary: £44,000 per annum
Shifts: 2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off (06:0018:00 / 18:0006:00)
We are currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Shift Engineer to join a well-established, fast-paced manufacturing site in Leicester. Working as part of a close-knit engineering team, you will play a key role in keeping production running smoothly. You will be responsible for both reactive and planned maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime and supporting the site in achieving its operational targets.
What youll be doing:
You will be working to a planned preventative maintenance schedule, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and in line with compliance requirements. Alongside this, you will respond to breakdowns across the site, diagnosing faults efficiently and carrying out repairs to get production back up and running as quickly as possible.
You will also take ownership of identifying root causes of issues, implementing corrective actions, and contributing to ongoing improvements across the plant. This role isnt just about fixing problems, its about preventing them.
Youll be carrying out statutory inspections, logging any remedial work required, and ensuring all records are kept up to date. Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and working within a 5S environment will be key.
Working closely with the Engineering Supervisor and Production teams, youll communicate effectively across departments, ensuring a seamless operation. You may also liaise with external contractors and specialists when required.

Were looking for someone who is confident working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a strong multi-skilled background across electrical and mechanical maintenance.
Youll be proactive in your approach, able to work on your own initiative, and comfortable taking the lead when needed. Strong fault-finding skills are essential, along with the ability to think logically under pressure.
A good understanding of health and safety is key, and you should feel confident raising concerns and contributing to a safe working environment.
