Job Title: Quality Engineer SDET Java
Location: BurgessHill
Type of employment: Permanent
Responsibilities
* 5-9 years of experience in technology with an emphasis on QA, including writing test cases, running functional automated or performance tests, and managing defects
* Collaborate with development and product teams to drive improvements in quality, automation, and testing processes
* Comfortable with modern datastores like PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Elasticsearch
* Experience with backend microservice automation, specifically REST and asynchronous messaging services (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)
* Demonstrable experience with Java as a programming language
* Work within a Scrum framework as part of a team to deliver business functions and customer journeys that are tested and automated throughout the CI/CD pipeline to production
* Solid understanding of test-driven development, including unit, component, functional, system integration, and regression tests
* Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and BDD/TDD practices
* Knowledge of testing tools such as Cucumber, Godog, Rest Assured, Rest or other REST API testing tools, WireMock, Mountebank or other HTTP stubbing tools
* Experience with CI/CD and CT, using tools like Jenkins and Jira, and version control systems such as Git or SVN
* Responsible for all testing activities aligned to the portfolio and collaborates with stakeholders to achieve high-quality deliverables
* Collaborates with development and product teams to drive improvements in overall quality automation and testing techniques
* Implementing portfolio automation and testing with a DevOps mindset
* Understand platforms and applications and adhere to program test principles, keeping test suites lean
* Proactively align with the platform roadmap and quality priorities to envision scalable, resilient, high-performing solutions and identify reusability at the platform level
* Support CI/CD capabilities for the portfolio and collaborate with enterprise teams to improve CI/CD capabilities and metrics, driving best practices and standards including root cause analysis
* Set and manage product quality standards and metrics for the platform; collect, maintain, and report metrics at the portfolio level; identify patterns, gaps, risks, and opportunities to drive innovation
* Identify project portfolio challenges, escalate as needed, and uphold standards to ensure quality customer experiences across platforms
* Maintain a healthy and efficient CI/CD pipeline and govern automation and testing in a CI/CD environment
