We're BDO, an accountancy and business advisory firm providing the advice and solutions entrepreneurial organizations need to navigate today's changing world.

We work with Britain's economic engine—ambitious, entrepreneurial, high-growth businesses—and directly advise their owners and management teams.

We'll broaden your horizons

Learning and Development (L&D) is a key enabler of our strategy and critical to our success. It supports attracting, developing, and retaining talented people who take pride in their work and deliver results. Effective L&D underpins quality and productivity by helping our people develop the necessary knowledge and skills to reach their potential.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Manager / Senior Manager or equivalent to join our Learning Development team. The role suits a talented, high-performing, and ambitious individual eager to support current curricula and shape future L&D strategies during our growth phase. This role reports to the Development and Monitoring Lead (DAM).

The Learning Development team (LD) comprises learning designers responsible for designing, curating, or creating content for the Audit programme. The goal is to develop impactful, innovative solutions that meet learner needs and achieve business outcomes. The team includes technical and non-technical specialists responsible for main authoring activities.

Lead authors collaborate with the Business Partnering team (BP) and Audit Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to understand business objectives and translate them into learning objectives and interventions. They use learning design methodologies, innovation, and insights to author complex content. They also support the Learning Implementation team (LI) with project management and facilitation when appropriate.

The successful candidate will lead a portfolio of programmes and have wider team responsibilities, including reviewing content, coaching junior members, driving team workstreams, and supporting initiatives like the Learning Library and Learning Culture programs.

This role can be based anywhere in the UK, with travel to London and other offices, including residential stays for certain courses.

Responsibilities include:

* Developing impactful, innovative content aligned with learner needs and business outcomes.
* Reviewing content created by team members to ensure quality, learning objectives, and consistency.
* Building and maintaining relationships with content SMEs.
* Supporting programme delivery through on-site project management and facilitation.
* Designing, curating, or creating technical and non-technical content under DAM guidance.
* Supporting wider L&D activities, coaching, and strategic initiatives.
* Briefing and training facilitators and hosts.
* Leveraging audit experience and accounting knowledge in content development.
* Coaching junior team members and building L&D expertise.
* Collaborating with BP and LI teams to translate learning needs into content.
* Working with the Innovation and Technology team to incorporate new learning technologies and design thinking.

Required skills and experience:

* Experience as Manager / Senior Manager with programme development background, including non-technical and audit-technical content, preferably with regulatory reporting knowledge.
* Practical audit experience and understanding of financial reporting, ethics, and conduct.
* Formal L&D qualifications are advantageous but not essential if experience is proven.
* Understanding of design thinking, innovation, tools, technology, and data analytics.
* Strong stakeholder relationship skills, influencing, problem-solving, and activity driving abilities.
* Teamworking, coaching, and independent working skills.
* Experience with behavioral change and cultural programs is beneficial.
* Interest in developing self and others through high-quality learning interventions.
* Ability to translate learning needs into objectives and coordinate responses.
* Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
