Expanded are currently recruiting for a Principal Engineer (Engineering Lead) to work on our Modular Bridges projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Technical Assurance
* Provide engineering support from early client engagement and ECI/work-winning stages through to construction, handover, and post-project reviews.
* Ensure compliance with relevant design codes, standards, and project requirements.
* Champion Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), promoting imaginative and efficient approaches to bridge building.
Mentorship & Knowledge Management
* Actively mentor junior engineering staff, fostering their technical development and career progression.
* Lead the Lessons Learned process and manage the Asite portal to capture and share project insights.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Represent the engineering team confidently in client and consultant-facing interactions.
* Build strong relationships to support collaborative and solution-focused project environments.
Leadership & Strategic Input
* Serve as the engineering lead in solution planning and strategy, including chairing technical meetings and driving design assurance.
* Collaborate with CEMC to support mould development and innovative engineering solutions.
* Provide hands-on support to site teams, ensuring smooth execution and resolving engineering challenges on the ground.
Flexibility & Mobility
* Willing and able to travel for short durations (typically 1–2 nights) to support site activities and client engagements.
Requirements
* Degree qualified in Civil Engineering
* Proven experience delivering complex infrastructure projects in a contractor environment
* Bridges experience (desirable)
