Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Activity Coordinator to enhance the quality of life for our residents in an care home setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical well-being among seniors, including those with Alzheimer's and dementia. This role requires a deep understanding of aging issues and the ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities.
Duties
* Develop and implement a diverse range of recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
* Coordinate event planning for special occasions, ensuring all logistics are managed effectively.
* Foster a supportive environment by encouraging resident participation in activities and providing assistance as needed.
* Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure activities align with residents' care plans and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
* Maintain schedule management for daily activities, ensuring all events are well-organized and communicated to residents and staff.
* Document participation in activities and assess their effectiveness in improving residents' overall well-being.
Qualifications
* Experience in event planning is highly desirable.
* Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or long-term care is preferred.
* Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
* Familiarity with working with people with disabilities is a plus.
* A background in home & community care experience is beneficial.
