Job Description Purpose of the role The Service Asset and Configuration Manager is responsible for implementing and optimising Service Asset and Configuration Management processes within a large public sector managed service account. The role ensures seamless collaboration between different teams and departments for effective IT service management, while working closely with the ITIL Process Manager to enhance the overall effectiveness of the ITSM framework. The successful candidate will have experience in process ownership, service delivery in complex environments, and IT asset and configuration management. Strong leadership, communication skills, and a detail-oriented approach are crucial to excel in this role. What you will be doing • Define process strategy and goals for Service Asset and Configuration Management, ensuring clear understanding across all stakeholders. • Develop and own a 3-tier hierarchical process structure, including Level 1 processes, Level 2 procedures, and Level 3 work instructions and policies. • Manage end-to-end processes, ensuring seamless collaboration between different teams and departments. • Oversee process implementation within the centralised toolset and ensure effective integration and data sharing. • Attend process review forums to drive continuous improvement and effectiveness of processes. • Monitor and measure KPIs, reporting on performance against process KPIs. • Ensure all teams and stakeholders understand their obligations when operating within the process. • Be responsible for maintaining the configuration management database. • Ensure that process KPIs are in place and fit for purpose, including end-to-end measurement of KPIs and performance. • Participate in centralised CMDB establishment and development, including CI baselining, relationship mapping, and CI types and attributes management.
