Are you an experienced Senior Bookkeeper who values working with a supportive and inclusive company?
We are very flexible with hours worked (any part-time and full-time hours will be considered) and are happy for you to be based at any of our offices (Swindon, Trowbridge, Bath, Chippenham or Glastonbury). You do need your own transport and be willing to visit other offices and client sites if needed.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
As Senior Bookkeeper you will undertake all bookkeeping activities for a variety of our high profile and larger or more complex clients, ensuring deadlines and proper accounting standards are met, providing an excellent customer service at all times.
* Preparing management accounts monthly and quarterly
* Inputting data and processing payments as required
* Managing and completing all VAT returns for allocated clients
* Composing correspondence to clients, tax office, registrar of companies and others
* Visit client sites as required to carry out bookkeeping and management accounts
* Conduct training for relevant accounts packages, both internally and to clients
* Maintain a full and accurate audit trail by filing and referencing documents
* Seek out personal development opportunities and complete CPD record annually
Who we’re looking for:
Candidates who have at proven experience of Bookkeeping at a senior level, with a strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures and financial reporting requirements. You will have AAT3 or QBE as a minimum (AAT4 desirable).
You must be IT-literate (MS Office, accounts and other packages), have VAT experience, and knowledge of desktop accounting packages (SAGE / Quickbooks. Knowledge of cloud accounting packages, such as Xero / Freeagent / QuickBooks online / Kashflow / Sage One) would be an advantage, although full training will be given.
You will be an excellent communicator, be positive, self-sufficient, pro-active and accountable. You will have tact, diplomacy, discretion, be self-confident and have great personal judgement. You will be organised, methodical, efficient and accurate, with good time management and prioritisation skills. You will be able to work under own initiative, keep calm under pressure, work as a team and across departments and be confident working with clients, developing relationships externally as well as internally.
