We’re working with a leading technology consultancy delivering secure, large-scale digital platforms across public sector and enterprise programmes. They’re looking for an experienced AWS API & Integration Engineer to help design and deliver modern, scalable API-led architectures.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building secure, cloud-native APIs and microservices on AWS, working across complex distributed systems in highly regulated environments.
What you’ll be doing:
* Designing and building RESTful APIs using AWS Lambda & API Gateway
* Developing microservices and integration solutions using Python
* Defining API standards, integration patterns, and service boundaries
* Building secure integrations using IAM, OAuth / token-based auth
* Supporting end-to-end delivery: design, build, deploy & production support
* Working across distributed systems and enterprise integrations
* Supporting CI/CD pipelines and live service operations
What we’re looking for:
* Strong experience in API design, microservices, and system integration
* Hands-on AWS experience (Lambda, API Gateway)
* Strong Python backend or integration development skills
* Experience with secure API architecture (IAM, authentication/authorisation)
* CI/CD experience and production support exposure
* Background in enterprise or regulated environments (ideal)
Desirable skills:
* Kafka / event-driven architecture
* Apigee or MuleSoft
* PostgreSQL / document stores
* AWS certifications
* Observability tools (CloudWatch, ELK, Grafana)
