This person should be confident supporting complex networking and communications solutions, with a particular focus on Wave Relay MANET technology and hardware. They should also have a strong interest or background in working on projects within the UK defence market, bringing both technical understanding and a team-oriented approach to help deliver high-quality project and technical support. The Role (What you'll be doing) This role encompasses the following responsibilities: Asset management including the base lining of the customers fleet of equipment. Project related Wave Relay equipment health checks and configuration management of hardware in line with the requirements of the project. Answering the help desk calls for the specific project and other technical questions. Recording and resolving technical questions. Managing support tickets. Managing and maintain the customers technical reference system. Work with the Communications Business Development team and Engineering to evaluate new software and hardware products. Providing overall customer support and acting in a support role for Wave Relay projects and specific support projects contracted to Steatite. Give and be part of a team in providing field technical support for customer demonstrations and trials. The role has opportunities to expand and get more involved with customer and technical support for the Wave Relay radios and associated equipment nd software. Once fully trained the role shall be to serve as a technical / project support specialist for the Communications business unit with the primary task of supporting a specific project and a secondary role of technical support to a wider customer base. The position requires travelling to customer locations to enable delivery of the project support and functions required to fulfil the project. Key Competencies & Experience First class communication skills with proven experience in interfacing with technical engineers. Engineering qualifications ideally in communications and or electronics. Understanding / qualifications in networking, IP scheming, and RF Understanding of IP Networks Have a basic understanding of RF Theory Strong understanding of engineering principles, systems, and troubleshooting. Ability to coordinate tasks, track progress, and ensure deadlines are met. Ensuring accuracy in documentation, reporting, and project execution. Security Clearances is required or need to be able to obtain Clean Driving Licence Desirable Experience with Defence, Communications, Intelligence, Special Operations communication systems but not essential. Ideally has experience collaborating directly with customers and end users. Networking skills using Cisco with CCNA or equivalent Have used/or know knowledge of MANET networks ADZN1_UKTJ
