We are currently recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Technician (ideally with electrical skills) to join our Wastewater Treatment Team.
This role involves maintaining and repairing wastewater treatment works across the Cherwell (Banbury) area, ensuring environmental, quality, and customer service standards are met, while complying with H&S legislation and budget targets. You will use your mechanical and electrical knowledge to keep our sites operational, reduce pollution, and innovate for continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Investigating plant failures and performing repairs swiftly to prevent process interruptions.
2. Carrying out scheduled maintenance on mechanical equipment according to standards.
3. Providing technical advice and support to the team, including training others.
4. Maintaining equipment like pumps, control gear, valves, and chemical handling systems.
The base location is Banbury STW, with a 38-hour workweek from Monday to Friday, plus standby duties with additional pay. All PPE, tools, and a vehicle are provided.
Candidate requirements:
* Apprentice-trained with significant mechanical experience, NVQ or C&G Level 3 in mechanical engineering, and mechanical NVQ2/3.
* Optional but advantageous: 18th Edition, experience with large industrial plant, health & safety awareness, full UK driving license.
We seek self-motivated, disciplined individuals with a proactive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset. Willingness to participate in a standby rota and safety training is essential.
