The Role And Responsibilities Do you have a strong passion for using analysis and evidence to influence policy and regulatory decisions? If the answer to this is ‘yes’ then we have a great opportunity for a Senior Analyst at TPR, to support the delivery of better saver outcomes through impactful evidence, research and analysis. Responsibilities You will be responsible for delivering analytical projects across a range of regulatory areas. Examples of the type of work you may deliver include: Helping TPR to understand the future size and shape of the Defined Benefit and Defined Contributions pensions landscape, Undertaking analysis to support new policy and regulation implementation (for example the Value for Money framework) and Developing new statistical publications. As TPR’s regulatory needs evolve, you will be able to flexibly pivot to focus of new work areas. We are looking for collaborative analysts, who are comfortable working with stakeholders across TPR. You will also have the opportunity to work with junior analysts within the team, providing leadership and guidance on both scoping projects and the analytical delivery. Ability to prioritise and use initiative Essential Criteria Postgraduate education in a relevant subject (e.g numerical or subject with a significant component of statistics) or equivalent professional experience. Experience in using own judgement to define and deliver analytical projects and develop insights in a regulatory or policy environment. Strong communication skills to explain how analysis and evidence can inform regulatory strategy and operations. Experience of developing analysis in collaboration with stakeholders and working effectively within a multi-disciplinary team. Proficiency in R or Python. Experience in handling large datasets and can at pace understand the structure of complex data warehouses, and assess data limitations. Desirable Criteria Knowledge and understanding of the UK pensions industry. Practitioner level knowledge of Git. AzureDevOps, and AGILE or Dev / DataOps workflow methodologies. The team The Strategy, Policy, and Analysis directorate plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the pensions market by developing a regulatory framework that enables market innovation, and for strategic development and implementation right across TPR.
