This role focuses on the design and specification of high-voltage (HV) substation plant and systems, supporting projects that span transmission assets, HVDC interconnectors, energy storage solutions, and facilities for mission-critical sectors.
Responsibilities
* In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of complex and high-value energy infrastructure projects across the UK and Continental Europe.
* Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for the design and specification of high-voltage (HV) substation plant and systems, supporting projects that span transmission assets, HVDC interconnectors, energy storage solutions, and facilities for mission-critical sectors.
* Your expertise will be instrumental in developing designs up to 400kV, from concept and FEED through to detailed design for construction.
* You will ensure technical excellence, compliance with client specifications, and adherence to health, safety, and quality standards.
* This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with major clients such as National Grid and SSEN, interface with other engineering disciplines, and contribute to the development of a resilient and sustainable energy network.
Qualifications
* A degree in Electrical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline and Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution or working towards chartered status.
* Experience within an electrical discipline and experience in delivering complex multi-disciplinary projects.
* Relevant professional experience in HV and LV substations up to 400kV; experience preparing design calculations, reports, and detailed drawings. CAD (AutoCAD or Microstation) preferred but not essential.
