Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal is looking to recruit an occupational therapy assistant to join the team on our acute ward. This is a full‑time role of 37.5 hours based on site.

Job Responsibilities
You will be part of a compassionate team committed to patients’ wellbeing. You will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertake routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
* Able to effectively and accurately update clinical records and computerised information systems as directed by the Occupational Therapist in a timely manner.
* Record and report patients involvement in 1:1 and groups, ensuring any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff and documented in an appropriate manner.
* Having compassion for the patients and their situation.
* Being proactive, enthusiastic and encouraging with staff and patients, encouraging interactions within groups and activities.
Qualifications
Essential qualifications and experience:
* The postholder must hold GCSEs/O-Levels (AC), a relevant NVQ Level 2 qualification, or equivalent experience. This is an entry‑level role; however, experience working in a health and social care setting is desirable. The role holder will support the OT or SOTA in completing initial assessments and checklists and will be expected to facilitate a range of group sessions, including psychoeducational, DBT‑informed, goal‑setting and life skills groups. Experience or training in autism support, DBT skills, and life skills development would be desirable, alongside the ability to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
