Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic Medical Secretary to join our admin team within Rehabilitation Directorate. This is a permanent post, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at Tickhill Road Hospital. The successful candidate will be reliable and able to provide a confidential, quality administration and telephone service. Attention to detail is essential whilst working within the team and supporting and mentoring colleagues. Applicants should have the ability to deal with people at all levels in a calm, polite and professional manner and should possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
If you do not already have a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH offer this post alongside the opportunity to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship qualification relevant to your role. As an apprentice, you will gain experience, learn work-related skills and obtain the tools needed to thrive. Apprenticeships include regular training with a college or other training organisation, with around 20% of working hours spent training or studying, leading to a nationally recognised qualification.
Role purpose includes providing an efficient secretarial and administrative support service to the Consultants and members of the medical team within the Care Group, and day-to-day effective administration support for a branch of the Care Group. You will also provide a confidential, efficient and effective medical secretary service to the Care Group Consultants and members of the medical team.
Responsibilities
* Production of written correspondence including reports and letters from dictation, written and audio to a high standard within agreed timescales.
* Maintain a high standard of communication at all times with internal and external service users and partner agencies.
* Support administration teams to work to deadlines and prioritise workload, ensuring effective support for the achievement of contracted targets.
* Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
* Deal with administrative tasks to deliver positive outcomes and ensure necessary cover at all times.
Qualifications and Experience
* Strong secretarial and administrative skills with attention to detail.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to deal with people at all levels in a calm, polite and professional manner.
* Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, or willingness to undertake a Level 3 apprenticeship qualification.
