Drake’s is seeking an Editor to work within the Brand team in London.
The ideal candidate will have a strong, instinctive understanding of the brand and an ability to translate our values and aesthetic into compelling, thoughtful storytelling through the written word.
They need to have thorough knowledge of the menswear landscape, paired with a strong grasp of the wider cultural world that surrounds it. This includes food and restaurants, art, photography, publications, galleries, and the individuals who shape these scenes.
Their knowledge should be international in scope, with a clear understanding of these worlds not just in London, but across our key markets in Europe, the United States, Japan and Korea.
They will be responsible for leadingCommon Thread, our in-house magazine, commissioning and editing weekly editorial features, and building relationships with interesting and influential people from adjacent industries. This role is central to keeping our editorial platform original, relevant, and among the very best in the industry.
The right candidate will be highly self-motivated and able to manage their time and workload independently, showing initiative and drive in pushing ideas forward without the need for constant direction. At the same time, they should work with openness and generosity, understanding the value of collaboration within a creative team. This role requires someone who can confidently lead their own projects while contributing thoughtfully to the wider creative process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Oversee the editorial calendar and manage both print and digital content output
* Define and uphold editorial standards, tone, and goals across platforms
* Generate story ideas and headlines aligned with brand voice and audience interests
* Write, edit, and proofread content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency
* Commission and manage external writers, including timelines and deliverables
* Collaborate closely with the e-commerce and brand teams to align messaging and content
* Ensure all work meets deadlines and stays within budget
* Work closely with the in-house creative team to deliver on images/film
* Maintain consistency in tone and style across all editorial formats
* Conduct fact-checking and ensure the accuracy of all published material
* Stay informed on industry and cultural trends to keep content fresh and relevant
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
* Proven experience as an editor and writer, with a strong portfolio; applicants will be asked to provide samples and complete a brief
* Deep, instinctive understanding of the Drake’s brand and the ability to express it through original, engaging editorial
* Strong grasp of the global menswear landscape, as well as adjacent cultural worlds including food, art, photography and design
* Cultural awareness across key markets including the UK, Europe, the US, Japan and Korea
* Confident leading and producing editorial across print and digital, includingCommon Threadand weekly features
* Skilled at commissioning, editing and collaborating with contributors from creative industries
* Excellent writing, editing and proofreading abilities, with a sharp eye for detail
* Familiar with social media best practices and how editorial can work across platforms
* Self-motivated and organised, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects independently
* Collaborative mindset with experience working closely within creative teams
