As our OMH Team Lead, most of your time will be spent working with our OMH team to plan the training delivery and review progress of our Self-Discovery programme and Peer Worker Development programme, to ensure we are meeting the aims, objectives and reporting requirements of our OMH funded contract. To provide ongoing development and improvement to training packages being delivered through feedback, evaluation and quality assurance activities.
On a day-to-day basis you will promote, lead and progress the work that relates to WATCH being recognised as a peer-provision leader/peer support specialist in Somerset.
An equally valuable part of your role, is supporting the ongoing success of OMHN projects, to ensure Peer Support is embedded in all provision and the Peer Support Framework provides up to date guidance for OMHN.
Oversee the delivery of OMH training programmes within timelines and budgets.
* Attend relevant Open Mental Health project meetings and workstreams as required, including development, steering and strategic work.
* Support the success of funded training projects, specifically our peer support provision.
* Have detailed knowledge of the contractual requirements for training and support services within OMH budget allocations
* Have detailed knowledge of the training programmes being delivered
* Develop systems for recruitment/initial assessment and progression processes to support the safe delivery of the service
* Act as a trainer/facilitator or in a training support role as and when required to maintain service levels.
* Oversee and monitor the quality of trainingand measure outcomes by developing evaluation and feedback processes
* Oversee the marketing and promotion of OMH training, through a variety of avenues
* Liaise with partner organisations
* Line manage peer engagement workers/other relevant support staff who provide WATCH services within the OMHN workstreams
* Ensure the workstreams training and support staff are well informed of developments and work together as a team to meet targets and overcome challenges.
Admin
* Review and monitor progress of contracts and ensure deliverables are on track by communicating with teams across the business
* Analyse data for performance targets, evaluative outcomes and /or other data specified, creating accurate reporting, storing securely and communicating to stakeholders
* Oversee the booking of training rooms internally and externally, working with admin staff
* Collect evaluations for review, summarise and report feedback to key stakeholders
* Communicate and liaise with all WATCH staff, OMHN partners, employers, managers and learners to deal with any queries relating to the WATCH OMH training provision
* Collaborate with other providers with peer-related provisions to utilise existing models and good practices.
* Other duties as required.
Education/training
Experience
* Experience in adult teacher/training, lifelong learning, planning, and evaluating learning programmes.
* Experience in mental health, professional or personal.
* A willingness to learn about and embrace our Inner blue sky values and approach to recovery
* Worked with individuals/groups supporting individuals with mental health issues.
* Familiarity and belief in the person-centred approach
* Experience using Teams/Zoom and One Drive
* Working with volunteers
* Work in the voluntary sector
* Line managing staff
Knowledge
* Knowledge of Carl Roger’s person-centred approach to developing trusting relationships
* Knowledge of Peer support, e.g., Shery Mead’s approach to intentional peer support
