About The Role PD&MS Group now have a fantastic opportunity for a Lead Civil / Structural Engineer to join our Structural Engineering team in our office in the city centre of Glasgow on a full-time, long-term basis. A flexible hybrid working model is available for this role. Employee or Contract position available. As the Lead Civil / Structural Engineer, you will- Act as the discipline focal point providing support across the business and client streams in our onshore civil engineering sector Execute engineering activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Design, Technical Study & Detailed Design) Proven and led assessing the effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance. Carry out work in accordance with PD&MS and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems. Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their review Provide technical assistance to junior team members as and when required About You Experience required: Significant, demonstrable experience in Detailed Design Engineering and Engineering Checking Detailed understanding of all Engineering disciplines Knowledge and understanding of relevant Industry Codes and Standards Understand the application of Autodesk Design products Proficient in structural analysis software such as TEDDS and STAAD Previous experience in leading a small/medium team of engineers and designers Previous experience with client interface / estimating / planning scopes of work Previous experience in delivering scopes of work to project plans and budgets Previous experience in onshore brownfield modifications scopes involving pad foundations, raft foundations, pipe supports, secondary steelwork structures Previous experience in assessing Ground Investigation information, including Site Investigation Reports, to establish allowable bearing pressures and suitable foundation selection Proficient in concrete and steelwork design, including connections, to Eurocode Proficient in compiling Calculation Packs and Technical Reports Willing to carry out occasional onshore site visits / surveys in the UK (normally 2/3 day durations). Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
