The day to day
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a vital role in maximising equipment efficiency and minimising downtime in the fast-paced automated environment. You'll apply your technical expertise to diagnose, repair, and prevent mechanical failures across our sophisticated manufacturing systems.
Reactive Maintenance:
Respond rapidly to unplanned equipment breakdowns
Diagnose mechanical faults on automated equipment
Implement effective repairs to minimise downtime and production losses
Communicate clearly with production teams during fault-finding and repair activities
Planned Maintenance:
Execute scheduled preventative maintenance programs to optimise equipment reliability
Perform precision mechanical adjustments, alignments, and calibrations
Install and commission new machinery and equipment
Document maintenance activities, spare parts usage, and equipment history
Continuous Improvement:
Identify recurring failure patterns and propose engineering solutions
Contribute to reliability improvement projects and maintenance strategy development
Support the introduction of new equipment and processes
Share technical knowledge with team members and support training initiativesWhat we offer

HNC/HND/NVQ Lv3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
Proven experience in a similar maintenance role within manufacturing/production/distribution
Strong understanding of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission
Experience troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manualsAbout you
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively under pressure
Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to maintenance
Flexible approach to working hours to support 24/7 operations when required
