My client, an innovative, eco-driven Multidisciplinary Consultancy, is currently searching for a Graduate Hydraulic Modeller to join their diverse team of specialist design consultants, near the beautiful, scenic, historical city of Gloucester.
Essential Criteria:
1. A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Geography, Environmental Management, or similar, relevant discipline
2. Excellent working knowledge of producing Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and/or Hydraulic Modelling
3. Good knowledge of relevant software packages, including TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, etc.
4. An awareness of the relevant policies and procedures across the UK flood risk and mitigation landscape
5. Excellent report-writing skills, demonstrable through academic achievements or commercial experience
It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Graduate Hydraulic Modeller to possess the following:
6. Some commercial, consultancy-based experience, in a design capacity
7. Possess a full UK driving licence
8. Good analytical mindset and technical skills
In your exciting new role of Graduate Hydraulic Modeller, you will join a growing team of experts in the flood risk sector, with a view to developing and refining your knowledge and skills as you progress through your career with the company. The role will involve a number of varied responsibilities, including:
9. Carrying out Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), Flood Estimation, and Hydraulic Modelling, utilising the appropriate software packages
10. Working on natural flood management, wetland restoration, re-wetting, and re-wilding schemes
11. Conducting Nutrient Neutrality Assessments
12. Assisting with the delivery of Surface Water Management Plans and Drainage Strategies
13. Working closely with a range of clients across the public and private sectors, delivering on a number of relevant, critical projects
