The Test Lead ensures the quality of IT solutions through advanced test analysis, preparation & execution of tests, and the reporting of results. This role leads software testing for projects and Continual Delivery initiatives, driving continuous improvement of testing practices. You will work on complex initiatives, from small defects to multi-system integrations, focusing on automation and strategic planning, while liaising with business and technical stakeholders to ensure reliable IT solutions. Please note that this position is not suitable for fully remote applicants, as regular on-site collaboration in Harrogate is essential. As their Test Lead, you will: Lead test activity within project and change frameworks including the adaptation of test strategy to fit project requirements, execution, oversight of testing, and the reporting of results. Responsible for ensuring the execution and tracking of testing within the project plan. Collaborate with IT Developers to deliver valuable solutions; working within the software development lifecycle to develop and execute test plans, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and timely delivery of solutions which are fit-for-purpose and fit-for-use. Guide and support business SMEs and IT specialists to ensure cross-functional cohesion; lead and mentor cross-functional teams in testing best practice. Offering expertise and assistance in test planning and execution. Plan and execute testing for small business changes, perform complex test analysis, contribute to automated regression test suites, and author and review manual test scripts while providing status updates. Lead continuous improvement in testing methodologies, ensure compliance with relevant processes and policies, assist in improving automated testing tools and education, staying updated with industry trends. Investigate, verify, report, and track defects; raise defects clearly collaborating with the development team to perform re-testing and resolve. Produce and manage testing documentation, contribute to documentation sign-off, and author test exit reports. Utilise advanced automation tools, collaborate with project management tools to track progress and manage test cases, and support the evaluation and design of scalable automated testing solutions for regression and performance testing. Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of software testing standards for the business, ensuring consistency and quality. Work with external testers, 3rd parties, and internal teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage and quality. Maintain detailed knowledge of the product capabilities of our ERP and Integration solutions (IFS and Snaplogic) and understand how associated best practice is bought to life. Collaborate with support teams to resolve support tickets. As the Test Lead, you will have: Significant experience in software testing or similar experience. Strong coaching and mentoring skills; experience of leading groups of SMEs to deliver Test outcomes Proven experience in implementing both manual and automated testing software and processes. Proficiency in defining and documenting test scripts from various sources. Comprehensive knowledge of ERP systems, with a focus on IFS preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail. Effective planning and organisational skills, demonstrating adaptability, teamwork and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple prioritised tasks simultaneously. Experience working with 3rd party suppliers. In-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle. Experience working within technical change programs and projects.
