A new opportunity has arisen for a flexible and resourceful Senior Science Technician to join our team at Thomas Estley Community College, playing a crucial role in supporting the wider Science department with preparation and assistance with Science-related materials as well as facility maintenance.
Job overview
You’ll be responsible for the preparation of a range of materials and apparatus for the Science curriculum within teaching rooms for academic staff and students. As well as this, you’ll take pride in ensuring Science facilities are maintained to a high standard, conforming to Health and Safety standards whilst also assisting in auditing the use of facilities and equipment and maintaining the equipment stores.
Job requirements
1. Minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant Science specialism
2. GCSE English and Maths at C grade or above
3. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to effectively monitor usage and standards of equipment and facilities
4. Knowledge of relevant school policies and codes of safe practice within the classroom
