Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Manager to oversee daily operations within our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in customer service and hospitality, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills to manage a diverse team effectively. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure high standards of food safety, quality, and customer service are consistently met.
This role is ideal for someone looking to be creative and further develop ideas as we look to invest and develop our deli and retail range. This individual will help spearhead the development of this department.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the team to ensure smooth operations and high customer service and a friendly environment.
* Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
* Assist in training, mentoring and evaluating team members, fostering a positive work environment.
* Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and courtesy.
* Help create new deli sandwich and pizza ideas, and specials such as milkshakes, cookie dough etc.
* Assist in the creation of social media posts advertising new flavours, specials and promoting any new deli sandwiches.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and dining areas in compliance with health regulations.
* Collaborate with management to implement new menu items and promotional activities.
* Ensure efficient working practices, clean prep and customer dining area.
* Assist in rota creation
Qualifications / Skills
* Proven experience in a supervisory role within the restaurant or hospitality industry such as a cafe, experience within a retail background shall also be considered.
* Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on team management and development.
* Familiarity with barista duties is a plus
* Food hygiene certification would be advantageous
