About The Role
Are you an experienced operational leader with a passion for delivering excellence in Ground Engineering? Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering is looking for an Operations Manager – Piling Plant in Bottesford to lead our on‑site delivery teams, ensure safe and efficient project execution, and maintain strong relationships with our customers. This is a key leadership role where you'll drive performance, inspire your teams, and support the continued growth and innovation of our business.
What you'll be doing
* Lead operational teams to deliver projects safely, on time and within cost and quality targets.
* Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring needs and expectations are consistently met.
* Support work‑winning activities by contributing operational insight to tender proposals.
* Ensure projects are fully planned, resourced and aligned with business strategy.
* Drive financial performance, identifying and managing risk to achieve or exceed targets.
* Promote innovation, continuous improvement and best practice across the business.
* Champion compliance with our Business Management System and support internal audit requirements.
* Lead the digitisation strategy within the Business Unit.
* Uphold and role‑model Balfour Beatty values with a strong focus on Zero Harm and sustainability.
Who we're looking for
* Strong experience in piling, driven piling, ground improvement or ground engineering operations.
* A recognised engineering qualification or relevant operational experience.
* CSCS and SMSTS qualifications (or willingness to obtain), suitable for occasional direct site supervision.
* Proven leadership capability with excellent people‑management and coaching skills.
* Clear, confident communication and strong presentation abilities.
* Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets, risks and opportunities.
* A results‑driven mindset with a passion for problem solving and continuous improvement.
* A collaborative approach, working openly with customers, suppliers and colleagues to achieve shared goals.
* A strong customer focus, always seeking to improve service and build long‑term relationships.
* The ability to plan, organise and prioritise effectively to deliver consistent operational results.
* Flexibility, adaptability and positivity in a changing environment.
