Senior Student Support Manager About the Role The Senior Student Support Manager leads student support provision across dBs Institute of Music, setting the standard for delivery, ensuring consistency across campuses, and driving continuous improvement. Based on campus, the role holds direct responsibility for managing support delivery locally, while also providing informal leadership across the wider function. This includes developing shared processes, guiding Student Support Managers on complex cases, and reporting to senior leadership on outcomes and service performance. Working within a framework set by the Executive Head of Governance and Compliance and the Executive Head of Student Experience and Campus Life, the postholder also manages a personal student caseload. The role is a qualified Designated Safeguarding Lead and holds lead DSL responsibility for the campus. What We’re Looking For Degree level education or equivalent experience, with a background in a relevant field such as social work, counselling, nursing or occupational health. Strong experience of Student Loans Companies including SFE and SFW, and DSA processes. Ability to triage effectively and identify individual needs quickly. Sound understanding of data protection, safeguarding legislation, the Equality Act and confidentiality standards. Key Skills Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise across competing demands in a fast paced environment. Creative and solution focused approach to problem solving, with the ability to manage complex cases. Confident in managing safeguarding risk and driving high standards of team performance. Strong relationship building skills across teams and stakeholders. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly and professionally.
