Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs, helping them to engage in learning and develop coping strategies.
* Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) in collaboration with teachers and SEN staff.
* Foster a positive and calm classroom environment that supports emotional regulation and social interaction.
* Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents on emotional and academic development.
* Work closely with the pastoral team to address emotional and behavioural challenges, promoting positive mental health and well-being.
* Participate in extra-curricular activities and interventions that focus on social skills development and emotional resilience.
Experience and Qualifications:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is essential.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with students.
* A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to supporting students with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents.
* Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or mental health support (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable.
* A DBS check is required.
