SEN Teaching Assistant - Gravesham Primary Schools Location: Gravesham, Kent Start Date: January 2026 (or ASAP) Contract: Full-time/Part-time, Temporary/Contract Gravesham primary schools are seeking caring, dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join their supportive inclusion teams. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive in a mainstream primary setting. About the Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs Assist children with communication, learning tasks and emotional regulation Adapt activities to meet individual learning plans (EHCP targets where applicable) Support children with ASD, ADHD, speech & language needs, sensory needs or other learning difficulties Help promote positive behaviour, independence and confidence Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs and external professionals Support the creation of a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment Assist with personal care if required (training provided)What We're Looking For You'll be a great fit for this role if you: Have experience working with children with SEN (school, nursery, youth work or care backgrounds welcomed) Are patient, calm, resilient and genuinely passionate about supporting young learners Can build strong, trusting relationships with children Are able to follow guidance and adapt your approach to meet individual needs Communicate effectively and work well as part of a team Are committed to helping every child access learning and achieve their potentialPrior school experience is helpful but not essential-full training is available.
