About the role
We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Customer Service Assistant, you will be working in a fast paced retail environment where no day is the same.
You will play an important role in the day-to-day operations of our store activities by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments and helping maintain the store’s appearance.
As the customer is at the heart of everything we do, you will be constantly looking for ways to improve service in your store through on‑the‑job coaching and feedback. With your guidance, your store will always remain a safe place to work and shop.
Responsibilities
* Provide excellent customer service and engage with customers with passion and pride.
* Encourage customers to give feedback by completing the “have your say” survey.
* Work across all areas of the store including online, tills, replenishment, vending and stock routines to meet customer needs.
* Apply training to ensure safe working practices.
* Participate in seasonal, community and charity events to create a great inclusive atmosphere.
* Understand store performance and the role you play in delivering profit.
* Demonstrate the values, make everyone feel welcome, and follow store policies.
* Clock in and out at the start and end of shifts to ensure accurate pay.
* Follow security procedures and wear safety equipment where available to keep colleagues and customers safe.
* Follow the Think 25 policy when serving age‑restricted products.
* Respond quickly to assistance calls or interventions on self‑service checkouts and explain actions to customers.
* Maintain a clean, tidy and organized store environment with clear aisles.
* May be responsible for running the shift in the absence of the Shift Leader and Store Manager at times.
* Follow all training to keep yourself, others and the store safe and compliant.
Note: If this store has a Post Office Local, duties may include day-to-day post office operations, which requires passing a Post Office Financial and criminal conviction background check. If checks fail, the job offer may be withdrawn.
