Job Description:
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and driven External Supply Manager (ESM) to oversee and manage the externally sourced supply chain across all EU-based contract manufacturing sites. This role is essential to ensuring the uninterrupted supply of assigned SKUs to both EMEA and global markets. Additionally, the ESM will provide strategic oversight and operational support for all SKUs imported into the EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure the uninterrupted supply of EU SKUs through accurate forecasting, planning, scheduling, ordering, and supplier coordination.
* Collaborate closely with CMOs and external partners to proactively resolve supply-related issues.
* Contribute to EU-wide processes including forecasting, demand and inventory planning, and capacity planning.
* Execute MRP, issue purchase requisitions (PRs), and work with Procurement to ensure sufficient inventory of PCC-supplied materials at CMOs.
* Manage inventory targets and safety stock levels to support consistent product availability.
* Lead supply chain planning and execution for the launch of new SKUs from EMEA CMOs.
* Ensure effective setup and ongoing management of the Gains MRP process, including accurate and updated master data.
* Handle planning and procurement for non-strategic materials at CMOs.
* Report out-of-trend supply issues to the EU Supply Chain Director.
* Prepare and deliver CMO MIS reports for PCC OpsCom meetings.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Operations, or Supply Chain Management; MBA in Operations/Supply Chain preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing, production planning, or inventory control—ideally in a generic pharmaceutical environment.
* At least 5 years of experience managing pharmaceutical supply through contract manufacturers, packagers, and external testing labs.
* Proven ability to manage complex supply chains involving multiple CMOs and partners.
* Strong experience with SAP is essential.
* Proficient in MRP and inventory control systems.
* Familiarity with cGMP guidelines, EU quality release processes, and regulatory aspects of label changes.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
* Self-starter with a proactive mindset and the ability to adapt quickly.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
* Positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
If you're ready to take on a key supply chain leadership role in a dynamic and growing pharmaceutical environment, we'd love to hear from you.
