Our client is a leading logistics and freight solutions provider, specialising in comprehensive transport, warehousing, and distribution services across the UK. They are currently seeking a dynamic and hands-on Warehouse Manager to lead their Steventon facility, ensuring seamless operations and exemplary service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage all aspects of warehouse activities including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and shipping to ensure efficient workflows and timely deliveries.
2. Lead a team of 6-10 warehouse staff. Responsibilities include recruitment, training, scheduling, and conducting performance reviews to nurture a high-performing and cohesive team.
3. Maintain inventory accuracy through meticulous data entry, regular cycle counts, and reconciliation with our Warehouse Management System (WMS). Ensure stock levels are consistent with demand and resolve discrepancies swiftly.
4. Implement and enforce health and safety policies, ensuring complete compliance with HSE standards to create a safe working environment for all staff.
5. Liaise effectively with operations, transport planners, and customers to meet and exceed service-level agreements (SLAs). Foster strong relationships to drive operational success.
6. Manage equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate with external contractors for repairs, ensuring all equipment is safe and compliant with Verran Freight policies and procedures.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
7. A minimum of 3 years proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor/Manager in a fast-paced logistics or warehouse environment.
8. Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word).
9. Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to develop, coach, and motivate a frontline team.
10. A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive under pressure.
11. Excellent organisational and analytical abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
12. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and delivery drivers.
Desirable Attributes:
13. Qualification or experience in team management or training.
14. A valid forklift licence.

15. £30,000 – £40,000 per year depending on experience and attributes.
