Job Description
We are looking to recruit an Estimator with proven energy or infrastructure experience to undertake duties on a number of high‑profile projects in the UK. The Estimator will work as part of the client’s Estimating function, producing detailed, resource‑based estimates to evaluate design changes, maintain the baseline cost, and challenge contractors’ estimates. You will report directly to the Regional Estimating Manager.
Job Objectives
* Produce accurate and comprehensive estimates for projects in a timely and efficient manner; control and manage the estimating process at the project level.
* Produce estimates with minimal management or supervision.
* Support the development and promotion of estimating good practice within Turner & Townsend.
* Assist in the achievement of departmental objectives.
* Stay abreast of developments within your technical area of expertise to provide best‑practice advice in line with business objectives.
* Actively contribute to developing and driving an Estimating Hub in the region.
Qualifications
* Qualified to a high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with proven relevant experience.
* Extensive experience of construction projects, preferably some onshore oil and gas projects.
* Successful experience of providing estimating and/or QS services in a large project environment.
* Understanding of project management, planning, risk and investment processes.
* Capacity to use RIB Construction Suite/iTWO to an intermediate user standard.
* Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status and/or a degree‑level education.
* Preferred degree in quantity surveying or an associated construction field.
* Desirable membership of RICS / CIOB / A. Cost E.
