Role
The role will work within the Management Accounting Service, reporting to the Management Accountant in the Reporting, Modelling and Analysis team. The role will benefit from interaction with the wider Management Accounting Service and Finance Department, working collaboratively with other support colleagues in Professional Services teams and Academic Departments. We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward thinking and adaptable individual who can work well with a wide range of stakeholders. This role will appeal to someone who has strong analytical skills, enjoys a variety of tasks and is proactive.
Key responsibilities
1. Act as a point of contact and respond to queries from Finance Department colleagues in relation to financial reporting, forecasting models and associated systems.
2. Support the production of financial performance and analysis reports across academic and professional services departments, supporting the Management Accounting Service Team and Finance Business Partners.
3. Support the production of financial forecasting, using the forecasting system.
4. Respond to a wide range of financial enquiries from staff across and University and Finance Department colleagues.
5. Monitor and process income, expenditure and payments across a range of accounts.
6. Provide support to the management accounting team, including completing accruals and prepayments.
7. Work flexibly performing other duties that support the wider Management Accounting Service, not listed above that are consistent with the role and grade.
Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
8. Qualifications: AAT qualified or similar (Desirable)
9. Skills: A high degree of attention to detail, a solution-oriented approach.
10. Knowledge: Understanding of financial practices and procedures used in large, complex organisations.
