Our people make the difference. What You’ll Do We are recruiting for a team member to join our Tooling Department, at our site in Corby, East Midlands. The job holder will principally work within the Roll Stand Refurbishment team and reporting to the team leader, however, may be required to support other teams within Tooling Department. This is a day rota shift pattern on a 4 week cycle, which includes working 3 out of 4 weekends with rest days Mon to Fri. The Roll Stand Refurbishment activity is manually intensive and often time critical. This is a dirty working environment due to the amount of grease and mill scale present in and around the roll stands. The successful candidate will: Clean, strip down and inspect stands to identify any defective parts; Depending of requirements, replace parts, change rolls and build up stands as per drawings and existing standards; Where necessary, transport and collect stands and spares; Provide fitting support for other teams and area within Tooling Department Maintain high standard of housekeeping in the area; Suggest and implement improvements to processes; Conduct all aspects of the job in a safe manner and adhere to statutory and mandatory safety regulations, procedures and policies. What you will need: Applicants will possess the following skills and attributes: The jobholder must be a time served indentured mechanical craftsman, Must have experience of working within a safe system of work NVQ level 3 qualification in mechanical engineering Candidates should be experienced in general mechanical fitting including fitting of bearings and gears with induction heaters and presses etc Be capable of interpreting technical drawings and standards, Be able to complete manual tasks up to 25kg in weight To work with COSHH regulations and have knowledge of substances working with them correctly Advantageous to have previous experience operating forklift up to 2 tonne (training provided) Advantageous to have previous experience operating overhead crane up to 10 tonne (training provided) Ready to make a difference?
