Description
The Herald & Times Group operate some of Scotland's best-loved media brands, reaching an audience of over 2.5 million adults every month via our market-leading platforms, including The Herald, Scottish Farmer, The National and Glasgow Times.
We are actively seeking a highly experienced Maintenance Engineer to work in our busy multi-disciplined maintenance department located within our flagship Print Centre outside Glasgow.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the key focus of this busy role will be to ensure all production equipment is maintained and is capable of operating within the manufacturer's set standards.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Carrying out planned maintenance tasks to agreed standards and procedures
* Diagnostic work and reactive resolution, ensuring that all press and mailroom equipment efficiency is maximised.
* Analysis of machine performance data and updating of maintenance records
* Supporting the maintenance of Site Facilities
* Working closely with colleagues to support problem-solving and root cause analysis
To be considered, you should have a minimum of an ONC level qualification in Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, you should be time served with a medium/heavy engineering background and knowledge of the newspaper industry would be desirable.
A good awareness of Health & Safety procedures is essential, as is the ability to use your own initiative to fault-find.
There is a requirement for the role to work a rotational shift pattern covering dayshift, backshift and nightshift; however, the remuneration package reflects both the role and the commitment required to succeed.
