Sonar Maintenance Training Instructor

Purpose
The Operability Expertise cell within the Systems Engineering team handles Operator, Maintainer, and Human Factors activities for Sonar and Command systems, focusing on UI design, training, and operability improvements.
We seek an experienced 2076 Subject Matter Expert Sonar Maintainer for domestic and export projects, including self-funded initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Produce and maintain DSAT training materials for Maintainer training
* Deliver DSAT training to the RN
* Review system designs from a maintainer perspective, identifying potential issues
* Innovate to improve maintainability and fault logging
* Collaborate with research to develop new algorithms
* Conduct system trials in harbour and at sea
* Support sea trials and liaise with stakeholders
Key Skills and Experience
Skills:
* Relevant Sonar maintenance experience
* Experience with Sonar Signal and Data processing
* Analytical and methodical approach
* Familiarity with UI prototyping tools
Experience:
* Sonar systems maintenance on UK Submarine Platforms
* At least 10 years RN experience, including at Senior Rate level
* Knowledge of maritime operations and acoustic design
Qualifications
* Foundation Degree in Electrical Engineering
