Description NEXT is looking for a dedicated and experienced Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager to join our team in South Elmsall. In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment across our warehousing and distribution network. You'll have the chance to make a real impact on our operations and culture. About the role: You'll be accountable for developing and maintaining our health and safety management systems and procedures for our warehousing and distribution sites. Your expertise will be key in ensuring all locations are compliant with current legislation and NEXT standards. You'll also work closely with local authorities and the HSE, acting as a key liaison for any enforcement activity and ensuring the best possible outcome for the business. This includes interpreting safety law and ensuring our policies and practices are up to date and legally sound, supported by regular audits and inspections. A major part of your role will be influencing and developing the management team to drive best practice in health and safety. You will use data and reports to gauge success and identify areas for improvement, helping to reinforce what works well. You'll be a core part of the team, providing incident response cover and helping to develop the safety knowledge of our Operational Facilities Managers and wider team. This includes creating new training courses and instructional materials to support our risk assessments and safe systems of work. You'll also provide essential health and safety guidance for new projects, builds, and equipment. This involves auditing new CDM projects, ensuring all new equipment undergoes a pre-delivery inspection, and making sure our systems for managing contractors remain suitable and effective. You will also be responsible for managing high-risk areas, including fire safety, working at height, and workplace transport risks. Additionally, you will ensure a clear Asbestos management plan is in place and that all emergent risks are communicated and addressed promptly. About you: You must have a good general level of education. You're experienced in supporting and advising on health and safety for engineering systems and processes. You have a good understanding of and/or qualification in Noise monitoring and Ergonomics. You have a working knowledge of transport and logistics. You possess a broad knowledge of environmental protection and enforcement. You have excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and use tact and diplomacy at all levels. You are a great team player with the ability to coordinate and delegate project work. You're a self-starter with a proactive and common-sense approach to problem-solving. NEBOSH Diploma Part 1 or an equivalent qualification is highly preferable. LI-MB1 LI-Onsite
