The pub is in a great location on Thornbury High street and benefits from lots of footfall. It is a large pub with a main bar area including pool tables at the rear. It also has a raised section with seating that leads out to the beer garden at the back with a covered drinking section along with benches that enjoy the sunshine! There is also another seating area outside the kitchen which is great for potential diners. There are multiple car parks available nearby so it is easy to access the pub.
The town centre location means it gets a wide range of guests and demographics. There is a real mix of younger drinkers along with older guests as well. It is currently run as wet only with no food and starting a food offer would likely attract more families into the pub. Thornbury has a number of pubs so you get a lot of people who will do a circuit at the weekend.
We are looking for someone who will get involved in the local community, create a warm and welcoming atmosphere and be really driven to increase sales through implementing events and an own food offer. They would ideally have experience of running a community pub previously and capable of running their own food menu.
The accommodation comprises of 3 bedrooms. The accommodation has one large bedroom in the loft area, a large bedroom on the main floor along with a smaller bedroom but all capable of having double beds. Bathroom suite, large lounge area at the front of the building and a kitchen. The accommodation is above the pub.
The White Lion is turning over approximately 3300 per week (100% wet lead) but has potentially to build significantly on these sales with the right operators who can introduce a food offering.
