Role Title
Work-Shadowing (Remote-First): AI R&D – Student Mental Health
(Observation-Only, Unpaid)
Role Description
This is a
15-week, very flexible, hybrid work-shadowing experience
focused on
AI R&D in Student Mental Health
. The role is
remote-first
(you can join from home), and you're
always welcome
to drop into our Cardiff office.
You will
observe
:
* Research framing and literature-review discussions
* Code/notebook walkthroughs and experiment design talks
* Weekly mini-seminars on ethics, privacy, and bias
* Show-and-tell demos from the AI/data team
Important:
This is
learning-only shadowing
—
no set duties, no rota, no deadlines, no deliverables
. If at any point we mutually decide that productive work or outputs are appropriate, we will
pause shadowing and offer a paid arrangement
at or above NMW/NLW before any work begins.Location & Schedule

Qualifications

* Basic Knowledge of
AI/ML principles
* Exposure to
Data Analysis / Predictive Analytics
* Research skills
(searching, summarising, referencing), ideally related to mental health
* Familiarity with
Python or R
(read-only notebook/code understanding is enough), Javascript
* Strong
communication
and collaboration mindset
* Comfortable in a
remote/hybrid
environment
* Interest in student mental health
is a plus
* Currently enrolled
in a relevant degree (e.g.,
Computer Science, Data Science, Psychology
) or recently graduated
